Who's Right?

What Have You Heard From God These Days?

In a society where we are so terribly busy who has time to relax and sit quietly for even 5 or 10 minutes and inquire of the Lord? On the other hand would most people even have a desire to hear from God? Would it be worth taking time out for this? If there is a God (and there is!), is He even remotely interested in you or is He, as a once popular song said, watching from a distance but not inclined to get involved? Can we know the answer to these questions?

We could poll several thousand people and come up with all different ideas about these questions but is there any place we can turn to find definitive truth? The Bible is God's word to us and it contains information on many different levels. But perhaps the most basic message of this book is there is a love that burns in the heart of God for people. He is concerned about my life and yours. It is also clear any distance between God and a person is not because of God. He is shown as having a great desire for people to seek Him.

What stands between us? Usually our preconceived ideas of who God is and what we think He wants of us. Most people think God just wants them to be good, religious or to go to church somewhere. It may be shocking but God is not interested in those things. If He were then Jesus would have gone to the religious leaders of His day, the Jews. But He didn't! That's why they (the leaders) got so mad, Jesus went to the people and bypassed them. God is interested in people, like you and me. He wants us to, pardon the phrase, "hang out with Him."
